About the University

Paul University, Awka is a private university owned by the Anglican Church (Church of Nigeria). Established to provide quality education rooted in Christian values and academic excellence.

Our Story

Paul University, Awka was established by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) with the vision of providing a world-class educational institution that combines academic rigour with moral and spiritual formation. The university is named after the Apostle Paul, whose commitment to knowledge, faith, and service inspires our institutional ethos.

Located in Awka, the capital city of Anambra State, Nigeria, the university occupies a sprawling campus that provides a serene and conducive environment for learning and research. Our strategic location in the heart of South-East Nigeria gives students access to a vibrant cultural and economic hub.

Our Mission

To produce graduates who are not only academically competent but also morally sound, spiritually grounded, and equipped to serve as leaders in their communities and professions. We are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community service.

Academic Excellence

Paul University offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across seven faculties. All our programmes are accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), and we maintain the highest standards of academic quality and institutional governance.

Our faculty members are distinguished scholars and practitioners who bring both theoretical depth and practical experience to the classroom. Small class sizes ensure personalised attention and mentoring for every student.
